The Chief Medical Officer has said the National Public Health Emergency Team is "genuinely concerned" about the number of cases of the variant of Covid-19 first identified in India that have been detected in Ireland.

Kingston Mills, Professor of Experimental Immunology at Trinity College Dublin joined Kieran on The Hard Shoulder to discuss.

Gabriel Scally, Public health physician, Visiting Professor of Public Health at the University of Bristol also gave his concerns on the Indian Variant.
