Former RTE radio reporter Valerie Cox has decided to run in the General Election in Wicklow as an Independent. Valerie will run on a platform for older people. Two reporters go to war, one runs for office and the other is Henry McKean, who has to play second fiddle to Valerie Cox.
In this double trouble exclusive, the two reporters stop commuters at Bray Dart station.
Valerie Cox's entry to the race, could shake up the hotly contested battle in the 5 seat Wicklow constituency.

The Workplace Relations Commission ordered RTÉ to pay €50,000 to former employee Valerie Cox because the broadcaster discriminated against her on age grounds.

19 candidates will contest the General Election 2020 in Wicklow

Voting will take place on Saturday the 8th of February 2020

The candidates are as follows

Aontu: Seamus Connor

Fine Gael: Andrew Doyle, Simon Harris and Billy Timmins

Fianna Fáil: Pat Casey and Stephen Donnelly

Green Party: Steven Matthews

Independent: Joe Behan, Valerie Cox, Tom Dunne, Charlie Keddy,  William King, John Larkin and John Snell

Labour: Paul O’Brien

National Party: Eileen Gunning

People Before Profit: Sharon Briggs

Sinn Féin: John Brady

Social Democrats:  Jennifer Whitmore
