Donegal is a county in mourning today after the tragic death of rally driver Manus Kelly in one of the final stages of yesterdays Donegal International Rally.
The defending Donegal International Rally champion was tragically killed during Super Stage 15 on the Fanad Head Loop at around 12:30pm.
Well-known Kelly has won the Donegal Rally for the past three years in a WRC Impreza. This year he changed to a Hyundai i20 R5 in his bid for four-in-a-row in front of 70,000 spectators.
Manus Kelly was also a businessman who employed upwards of 60 people locally, and he was also a Fianna Fail Cllr.
