The Department of Communications is seeking clarification from Eir after its CEO said they could provide the National Broadband Plan for €1 billion.

It comes as Siro, another bidder who pulled out of the broadband plan last night told the Oireachtas the company has an uptake rate of 17% in areas that it’s rolled out fiber broadband to.

Eoin Reeves, Head of Economics at the University of Limerick joins Newstalk Breakfast.
