Should we put price caps on electricity costs?

Energy providers need to offer a better explanation for prices that consumers remain high despite falling wholesale costs. So said Finance Minister Michael McGrath yesterday, while elsewhere Sinn Féin will today call for electricity prices for households to be capped at pre-Ukraine War levels. Muireann Lynch, Energy Economist at the ESRI gave her view on such a cap.
