Should the government be considering mortgage interest relief

The reintroduction of a tax relief on mortgages needs to be considered in the next budget. So said Minister for Housing Darragh O’Brien in the Dáil yesterday following yet another rate hike from the European Central Bank. But would such a move make sense?
