Minister for Health Simon Harris has pledged an additional 199 beds to become available by the end of the month in a bid to tackle the trolley crisis.

It comes as the INMO’s latest trolley figure of patients waiting for admission was 760, a new record.

We speak to one of those who has recently had to wait on a trolley, 27 year old Kellie Tallant, one of those emergency medicine doctors at the coalface over Christmas, Dr Lisa Cunningham and Dr. Fergal Hickey, Consultant in emergency medicine at Sligo University Hospital and Communications Officer for the Irish Association for Emergency Medicine.
