RTÉ paid more than €650,000 to staff in tax allowances last year – with no stipulation that recipients would have to hold a driving licence to receive the payment. 

Those figures are contained in a series of documents sent by the broadcaster to the Oireachtas media committee.  That’s in advance of an appearance by RTÉ executives later today. Speaking to Newstalk Breakfast ahead of the meeting today was a Member of the Media Committee now, Sinn Fein’s Media Spokesperson, Imelda Munster.
