The Exchequer deficit on a twelve-month rolling basis was just over €12 billion in May, according to figures from the Department of Finance. VAT receipts surged back to pre-pandemic levels last month as the economy reopened after months of lockdown generating €2.3 billion in May. For more, on this Shane was joined on the show this morning by  Paschal Donohoe, Minister for Finance.
