A business group wants a levy placed on free car parking spaces for employees in the city.

Dublin Town says it could bring in an estimated 25 million euros a year and encourage more workers to take public transport.

A scheme in the UK's seen a 15-hundred euro tax on each space.

As part of it's pre-budget submission, the group says we also need to be enforcing VAT charges on packages that come in from the likes of China and the US.

Richard Guiney, CEO of Dublin Town and Brendan Carr SIPTU Dublin District Council Joint Secretary and Former Lord Mayor of Dublin join Newstalk Breakfast to debate the idea.
