Ireland is expected to experience electricity supply challenges over the coming years as demand increases and older power plants close, according to EirGrid’s Generation Capacity Statement In response - The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) is outlining a programme of work to address the increase in forecasted generation capacity needs.

To discuss this further and for reaction, we heard from Jim Gannon, Commissioner at the Commission for Regulation of Utilities and also we heard from by Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications and Transport Eamon Ryan.
