We are less than two years away from creating ‘designer babies’, according to a new research. The findings published by Kevin Smith, from Abertay University in Dundee, reveal that the risks of gene editing are low enough to warrant its use with human embryos - and arguing an ‘ethically sound’ attempt could be as close as less than two years from now.
