On Futureproof we know our listeners are pretty damn smart and although you may have gotten a hard time in school, being the class geek usually has its benefits in the long run.

Indeed, research has shown that intelligence is one of the top predictors of both success and longevity.

But it’s not all good news for the highly intelligent. Ruth Karpinski is a researcher at Pitzer College and Lead Author of a new study entitled High intelligence: A risk factor for psychological and physiological overexcitabilities. She tells Jonathan about her findings
