Newstalk is recruiting for the position of Off the Ball Assistant Producer.
Off the Ball has built a reputation as one of the leading sports shows in Ireland. Informed and entertaining coverage, analysis, reaction and opinion are all signature sounds of the show.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of the show, have a rounded knowledge of sport and have a proven track record of media content production. They will work closely with the show Producer and the Sports Editor.
Requirements and responsibilities:
- Back-up the show producer in every aspect of day-to-day operations.
- Live on-air producer, cover for the senior producer as required.
- Contribute to daily production meetings, setting the agenda for that night’s Off the Ball. At times, they will lead those meetings and must demonstrate a track record of leadership in respect to same.
- Generate and research ideas for show items and guests.
- Source and book potential contributors.
- Manage logistics around guest bookings.
- Manage in-house logistics around pre-recorded/live output: studio bookings, equipment checks, running the broadcast desk, post-interview editing.
- Long term show/item/Outside Broadcast identification and planning.
- Audio editing using Cool Edit/Adobe software.
- Produce presenter briefs.
- Liaise with other shows and departments as appropriate.
- Podcast posting and development.
- Ongoing development and promotion of digital content.
- Managing social media channels.
