In the middle of our breakdown of the weekend's GAA action this evening, we learned that Donegal manager Rory Gallagher has parted ways with the county, one week after its championship exit at the hands of Galway.
"I wouldn’t entirely say it’s unexpected. You look what Rory Gallagher has had to work (with) and manage, the changeover of personnel," Mayo star David Brady told Off The Ball.
"Nine of their main guys - All Ireland winning team, experienced team, crucial players - they left, so he had to manage a transformation process."
He added that he believed that his reign happened in the "shadow" of Jim McGuinness.
"I don’t think he did him any favours whatsoever," he continued and said that he believed that he had been, "throwing a few grenades," in the direction of the new management team.

Kerry's Mike Quirke added that he had also been unimpressed by comments made by McGuinness while Gallagher was leading the county.
"Jim obviously isn't too bothered over in China," he told Joe Molloy.
He believes that the change may not be an, "Overly bad thing," and that a new voice may help Donegal.
Quirke told OTB that the county's tactics have seemed to be lost between a number of systems.
