The comedienne has come under fire for her video "Dear Fat People", which was published on Sept 3rd and has since been watched over three million times.

In the video, Arbour makes pointed jokes about obesity and compares being chased by overweight pursuers to a zombie movie.

In light of the video, Pat Mills, director of upcoming body-positive dance-movie Don't Talk To Irene, fired Arbour from the project, after she was cast as a dance choreographer.

Mills had this to say to E Online: "She was fun and nice and had a lot of energy. [...] She seemed like a perfect fit for the project. I shared the script with her. She said she dug it and was excited to come on board…and then a crazy thing happened on Saturday—I saw something on the Internet that made me never want to see her again."

"It's a body-positive teen dance movie set in a retirement home. It's about a 16-year-old girl who dreams of being a cheerleader, but she is constantly being bullied for being fat."

There was another reason why Mills took personal offence to her video: "I'm gay, I was bullied a lot as a kid. I'm no stranger to ridicule and loneliness. [Her video] is an unfunny and cruel fat-shaming video that guises itself about being about 'health.' It's fat phobic and awful…I was so upset I was shaking. [...] Bullies like Nicole Arbour are the reason I am making this movie. I'm tired of body shaming. It's everywhere."

Despite the overwhelming backlash, Arbour has refused to apologise for the video, and has sent a number of tweets defending her comedy.
