Focus Ireland has confirmed that its Shine A Light fundraising campaign, proudly supported by Sisk, in aid of homelessness will take place next month for the 14th year. 

In July, there were 17,527 people homeless in Ireland, of whom 5,659 are children living in emergency accommodation. 

In a statement, Focus Ireland said that all children “deserve a place to call home”.

“But nearly 5,659 of them are experiencing homelessness, their lives on hold, trapped in temporary accommodation,” a spokesperson said. 

“We can’t accept this as normal; we believe no child should ever experience the heartbreak of homelessness. 

“And that’s why we’re asking for your help.”

Those who take part will be invited to sleep out and raise funds from family, friends and colleagues to do so. 

All funds raised will support Focus Ireland's work to prevent and end homelessness.
