A woman in her 30s has died following a two-car crash in Kilsheelan, Co Tipperary. 

It happened on the N24 at approximately 10pm last night, March 29th. 

The passenger in one of the cars, a woman in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The body has been taken to Waterford University Hospital, where a postmortem examination is due to take. 

The driver of the car, a man in 40s, was taken to Waterford University Hospital for treatment for injuries believed be non-life-threatening at this time. 

The occupants of the second car, two men and a women aged in their late teens, were also taken to hospital for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. 

Gardaí in Tipperary are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward. 

The are particularly interested in anyone with dashcam footage who was driving in the area at the time. 

This is the 56th death on Irish roads so far this year, compared to 42 on the same date last year.
