Esmeralda Labye was subjected to verbal and sexual assault as she attempted to report live from Cologne earlier this week.
The Belgian journalist, who was filing footage for Radio Télévision Belge de la Communauté Française, was approached by three men as she was reporting live on camera.
Speaking to CNN, Labye said "I didn't see them as I was focusing on the broadcast. Then I felt a kiss on my neck...almost immediately after I heard someone saying 'do you want to sleep with me' and some hands on my shoulders".
Although she demanded that they stop and tried to continue with her broadcast, she added that "the three drunks didn’t seem to understand why I was angry, but they left without a word".
The men involved in the incident have not yet been identified. Cologne has been in the headlines recently after a string of sexual assaults took place on new Year's Eve, which lead to the resignation of the city's police chief.
