The victim of a serious assault in Cork on December 28th has passed away in hospital.

The 29-year-old man has been in critical condition since the event, which occurred at Glenwood Estate, Carrigaline, Cork.

A state post mortem of the victim is scheduled to take place on Monday.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal to members of the public who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.

Anyone who was in the vicinity of Glenwood Estate, Carrigaline, between 5pm and 5:45pm on Wednesday, 28th December 2022, particularly any road users who may have camera footage (including dash cam) of the incident, is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.
