The funerals are taking place today of a mother and two daughters killed in a road crash in Mayo last week.

Una Carlin-Bowden, along with her daughters Ciara and Saoirse, will be laid to rest in Donegal.

The 47-year-old mother and her daughters, aged 10 and 14, died following a horrific road crash on the N17 in Mayo last Tuesday.

The funeral procession will leave the Carlin house at 11am this morning and travel to St Eunan's Church in Raphoe for their funeral mass at midday.

Family friend Adrian Devane said they would be missed enormously by everyone in their local community of Moycullen in Galway.

“They were absolutely beautiful and the most engaging family in the village,” he said.

“They were involved with everything.”

Incoming Taoiseach Simon Harris has also offered his sympathies to those mourning the loss of the Bowdens.
