Almost two-thirds of us expect a pay rise in 2016, but men are more likely to ask for one.

A new survey shows that 27% of men would feel confident asking for a wage increase, compared to 18% of women.

However only 39% of us who expected a pay rise in 2015 actually got one.

The research was carried out by Matrix Recruiting Group, an Irish company with offices in Dublin, Galway, Waterford, Carlow and Athlone.
