Two men in their 20s, believed to be brothers, have been assaulted in south Belfast.

The assaults happened at around 9.30pm last night.

One of the men received a serious head injury and is critically ill in hospital.

The second sustained facial injuries.

Police says the assaults occurred while a band parade was taking place in the Donegall Road area.

Police in Belfast are appealing for any witnesses to contact them
