Two men have been arrested as part of ongoing investigations into the activities of dissident republicans in Dublin and Limerick.
Members of the special detective unit and the crime and security section arrested two males- one aged in his 30’s and the other in his 60’s- at James Street in Dublin yesterday afternoon.
Two handguns were also recovered at the scene.
In a follow up search yesterday afternoon in the Limerick area, a quantity of ammunition was also recovered.
The two men are currently been detained at Clondalkin Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
