The President of Tunisia has declared a state of emergency during a televised address- one week on from the mass shooting.

The country is already on a heighten state of security following the Islamic State attack in Sousse.

This evening's announcement gives the Government more powers to tackle terrorism related activities.

38 people were killed and 39 injured when a gunman opened fire at a tourist beach in the town of Sousse on June 26.
