There will be scattered heavy showers elsewhere. The risk of hail and thunder will become more widespread this afternoon with spells of sunshine breaking through from the west.
Colder than normal with moderate northwest winds; highest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees.

The last of any showers clearing on eastern coasts early tonight. Becoming dry everywhere but turning very cold, with long clear spells and light variable breezes.
A widespread sharp to severe frost will quickly set in, bringing some icy stretches. Lowest temperatures -3 to + 1 degrees. Coldest away from west and southwest coasts.
