Today
Cold and frosty, with ice on untreated surfaces and also some pockets of fog, these mainly over parts of Munster and south Leinster.
But these will all clear to give a cold, bright day with good sunny spells.
Some rain or hail showers will affect north facing coasts, but mostly dry elsewhere.
After a cold start, top afternoon temperatures will range 5 to 8 degrees, in light to moderate northeast breezes.
Tonight
Cold and frosty again tonight, with icy surfaces. A lot of dry weather, but scattered showers over Ulster, where some will be wintry.
Lowest temperatures plus 1 to - 3 degrees.
Winds will fall off light in most paces, but a stiff northeast breeze will affect the south coast.
