There will be a few pockets of frost in some northern areas at first. It will be misty this morning but dry at first in many central and northern areas, rain in much of Munster and south Leinster will extend northwards during the morning, but northern areas will stay dry until afternoon.

Drier brighter weather will follow northwards this afternoon, but scattered outbreaks of rain will persist in parts of Ulster.

Highest temperatures will range from about 7 degrees Celsius in Ulster, to 12 degrees Celsius in the south and southwest in fresh southeast winds, strong at times in some northern and eastern coastal fringes.

It will remain mostly dry this evening and early tonight. But showery rain in the southwest early tonight will spread northeastwards overnight. Some heavy outbreaks likely in parts of the south and west with a risk of isolated thunderstorms. Clearer weather will follow later into  Munster.

Overnight lows of 4 to 7 degrees Celsius in fresh southeast winds.
