Major traffic disruption is likely in Dublin city centre for some time this morning after a serious collision.

It is understood a man was seriously injured when the e-scooter he was on collided with another vehicle at Usher's Quay.

Gardaí say roads are closed between Mellows Bridge and Fr Matthew Bridge and diversions are in place.

It has caused significant disruption to rush hour traffic along the quays and the wider area as a result.

It is unclear when the route will be back open.
