A very moving tribute and message of support to those affected by the Berkeley tragedy has been laid out on Croagh Patrick in County Mayo.

Ireland is still reeling after the collapse of a balcony in California claimed the lives of six young students.

Messages of support have been flooding in from all over the country and indeed the world with various books of condolences being opened to remember those who perished in the tragedy.

One tribute to the victims, highlighted by JOE.ie, which was sent to them by Ronan Finn, is particularly memorable in terms of both its scale and subtlety.

One of the injured, Sean Fahey, posted the photo below to his Facebook page, thanking everyone for their support in what he described as a 'dark time'.

The 21-year-old posted on Facebook: “Thanks everyone for the support in such a dark time RIP”
