Greek deadlock

Attempts to break the deadlock in the Greek debt crisis will carry on into the weekend.

The latest talks broke up without agreement yesterday.

Finance ministers meet again tomorrow, as Athens tries to strike a deal with creditors to meet a Tuesday deadline to pay 1-point-6 billion euros to the International Monetary Fund.

Remains of two people discovered in Co Meath

Forensic tests are being carried out on the remains of two people found in Co. Meath - during a new search for the so-called 'Disappeared'.

The remains of two people were uncovered yesterday at a site in Coghalstown as part of searches for former monk Joe Lynskey, who was killed by the IRA in 1972.

The Independent Commission for the location of Victims Remains says DNA testing could take up to a month.

Berkeley investigation

The DA of Alameda County's to consider involuntary manslaughter in the investigation into the Berkeley balcony collapse.

Nancy O'Malley confirmed last night that her office has opened a criminal investigation into the incident that killed six students and left seven more injured.

However she says multiple questions must be answered before a decision can be made on criminal liability.

A team of 66 investigators will be at the disposal of the investigation.

Charleston funerals

The first funerals have taken place for the victims of the shootings at a church in South Carolina.

President Obama's expected to deliver the eulogy for Clementa Pinckney - the Reverend and State Senator who was among the nine victims of the attack in Charleston.

First Lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will also attend the service.

Death of James Horner

A coroner in the US has confirmed Oscar-winning composer James Horner was the pilot killed in a plane crash earlier this week.

The 61-year-old's death in a remote forest area in Southern California has been ruled an accident.

His works included the scorelines for films 'Titanic' and 'Avatar'.
