Banking Inquiry to hear from first developers
The Banking Inquiry will hear from its first developers today.
The inquiry will take evidence from Derek Quinlan, who was once of Ireland's best-known developers at the peak of the property bubble.
It is estimated that Mr Quinlan owed around €3.5bn to Anglo Irish Bank and other lenders at one point.
St Vincent's Hospital to begin pancreas transplants
St Vincent's hospital says it hopes to undertake pancreas transplants from September.
The hospital says it will meet with eight people who are awaiting a kidney and pancreas transplants on the 24th of this month to discuss the situation.
Berkeley survivor wakes from induced coma
One of the survivors of the Berkeley balcony collapse has begun to wake from an induced coma.
A statement of the 'Friends of Aoife Beary' Facebook page said the 21-year-old Aoife Beary remains in ICU but is no longer on the critical list. Beary has been in an induced coma since the incident on June 26, but has now reportedly begun waking and communicating with her parents.
