Gardai investigating a fatal shooting incident in Dublin earlier today

Gardaí investigating a fatal shooting incident at the Regency Hotel, Swords Road, Dublin 9 are appealing for witnesses to contact them. The incident occurred at about 2.20pm on Friday 5th February 2016. Emergency services responding to reports of a shooting discovered three men injured at the scene. One of these men, aged in his 30s, was subsequently pronounces dead. Two other men were removed to The Mater and Beaumont hospitals with gunshot wounds.

One killed as crane collapses in Manhattan

One person has been killed and two others seriously injured after a construction crane collapsed in Lower Manhattan. Images from the scene showed the large crane had landed across several parked cars, crushing their roofs, in the TriBeCa neighbourhood of the city. Debris from the accident littered the street and the impact also damaged the roof of a nearby building.

Male students at UCD, the largest university in Ireland, involved in a group chat on Facebook are sharing explicit images and rating women with whom they have had sex, according to the campus newspaper The College Tribune. Understood to be members of the Agricultural Studies department, the students’ alleged activities are the second high-profile controversy to hit the Belfield site after a private Facebook group, also allegedly involving Ag Science students, was exposed last March.

Manchester United hold talks with Jose Mourinho representatives - Reports

Reports emerging today indcate that Manchester Unietd have held talks with representatives of Jose Mourinho regarding the possibility of him taking over for Louis van Gaal. According to the Manchester Evening News, both sides have met to hold talks but that a deal is yet to be struck between the parties. Manchester United sit in fifth position in the, five points adrift of Arsenal and Tottenham.
