Retailer Tesco is marking the first Valentine's day since Ireland legalised same-sex marriage by a popular vote.

It has introduced a limited edition rainbow rose, which will be available from Friday.

The rainbow rose will set you back €2.50.

The petals are coloured by splitting the stem and dipping each part in different coloured water.

The colours are then drawn up the stem into the petals to form a vibrant multi-coloured rose.

For those who don't know, Valentine's day falls this Sunday.
