Today will remain warm and rather humid, however you will be unlikely to see any sun for the majority of the day.

Met Éireann has said outbreaks of rain will develop across Atlantic counties and will gradually become widespread.

Showers will turn heavy and thundery later in the afternoon, especially in the west, with heavier bursts of rain hitting the east this evening.

Spot flooding is likely in some places and temperatures will range between 18 and 23 degrees.

Further thundery rain is also expected overnight in the midlands and east, but will clear into the Irish Sea later.

Mist and fog is likely in some parts too.

Fresher weather will spread across the western half of the country before Friday morning, but it will feel close in other areas with temperature ranging between 10 and 16 degrees.
