A teenager is in hospital following a hit-and-run in north Dublin yesterday.

Gardaí said the young man was hit by a car at around 6:55am on the Swords outside the entrance to Castle Heath in Malahide.

The car is described as being a Blue Ford Focus with an 05D registration.

Gardaí said it failed to remain at the scene and it is believed it travelled on in the direction of swords.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses, particularly any drivers who may have dash-cam footage from the area at the time, to come forward.
