A teenage girl has been treated in hospital after she was attacked in north Kilkenny. 

The injury, which is described as non-life threatening, was sustained while the 17-year-old was out for a walk on her own. 

The attack took place in Cullinane's Lane, roughly 1km away from Johnstown. 

Local Gardaí have urged anyone who was in the area between 11am and 12.15pm today to come forward and contact them on 0567775000.
