Over four million refugees from Syria have now passed into neighbouring countries.

The UN High Commission for Refugees is describing it as the world's single largest refugee crisis for almost a quarter of a century.

At least an additional 7.6m people are displaced inside Syria.

The UNHCR says it expect the figure of refugees in neighbouring countries to reach around 4.27m by the end of this year.
