This morning will be cold with frost and fog in many areas.
These will clear slowly to give a bright day with sunny spells.
Mainly dry in the eastern half of the country. Some scattered showers further west.
Highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees with mostly light westerly breezes, but fresher on southwest coasts.
Tonight
Much of tonight will be dry with clear spells.
Frost will develop early in the night as temperatures fall to between -2 and +2 degrees.
After midnight, rain will develop in the southwest and will spread across Munster and Connacht overnight along with strengthening south to southeast winds.
Weather warnings
There is a status yellow wind warning in place nationally.
Strong, gusty south to southeast winds on Monday will reach mean speeds of 45 to 65 km/hr with gusts of 90 to 100 km/hr, strongest in coastal areas
While a status yellow low temperature warning is also in effect.
Widespread sharp or severe frost tonight and Sunday morning with lowest temperatures of -3 or -4 degrees.
Dense fog patches in many areas also.
