St Vincent's hospital says it hopes to undertake pancreas transplants from September.

The hospital says it will meet with eight people who are awaiting a kidney and pancreas transplants on the 24th of this month to discuss the situation.

It follows the stopping of the service at Beaumont Hospital earlier this year.

Patients have been highly critical of the facility and say they've been left in the dark as to what treatment they will receive.

In a statement St Vincent's says they are currently putting a team together so the service can begin in the Autumn.
