290 people are now known to have died following terror attacks in Sri Lanka after eight explosions hit churches and hotels yesterday.

As yet, no group has said it was behind the attacks, but 24 people have been arrested by authorities.

A nationwide curfew imposed shortly after the blasts, was lifted this morning.

"The right to the freedom of worship is a fundamental right."

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said: "I strongly condemn the cowardly attacks on our people today.

"I call upon all Sri Lankans during this tragic time to remain united and strong."
