Scientists are expected to make a big announcement about the universe later.

They will say if they have managed to catch the first glimpse of gravitational waves, ripples in space-time predicted by Albert Einstein 100 years ago.

The waves are theoretically generated by huge events - like the collision of two black holes - and are thought to compress and stretch space-time as they spread out.
