Hundreds of people are are staging an anti-homophobia demonstration in Dublin city centre this afternoon.

It follows controversy over comments made by the gay rights activist Rory O'Neill on RTE's Saturday Night Show last month.

The comments by Mr O'Neill - who's better known as drag artist Panti - prompted legal threats and it's understood the State Broadcaster paid out 85 thousand euro as part of a defamation settlement.
