RTÉ will ask the High Court to vary the terms of Denis O'Brien's media injunction on Wednesday.

The businessman secured an order last month, stopping the reporting of his banking arrangements with IBRC.

Many of the details subsequently emerged in Dáil statements made by Independent TD Catherine Murphy.

Earlier this week, Mr Justice Donald Binchy issued a redacted judgment and confirmed that his order did not extend to Dáil privilege.
