The Labour party is showing "anti-catholic bigotry" in it's handling of access to primary schools.

That's according to Senator Ronan Mullen who says that potential new policy is driven by a small percentage of people who can't bear the idea of catholic schools teaching catholic values.

Legislation is being considered to free up places in primary schools for children who haven't been baptised.

Currently, schools run by religious orders can give preference to admit children who have been baptised over those who have not.

However Senator Mullen says the plan shows a bigotry from the Labour party.
