A protest against homophobia is taking place in Dublin this afternoon.

It follows controversy over comments made by the gay rights activist Rory O'Neill on RTE's Saturday Night Show last month.

It's understood the State Broadcaster paid out 85 thousand euro in its defamation settlement over the comments made by Mr O'Neill - who's also known as Panti.

LGBT Noise has organised today's demonstration. Spokesperson for the group is Max Krzyzanowski
