Next year's National Ploughing Championships will be held in Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

This week, 281 thousand people visited this year's event in Ratheniska, Co. Laois - which is up 15 hundred on last year's total visitor figures.

The National Ploughing Association has described next year's site in Screggan, as 'superb' and 'centrally' located.

The 85th National Ploughing Championships will take place from the 20th until the 22nd of September 2016.
