YouTube pranksters Trollstation tried to capitalise on the 'piggate' rumours with a video earlier this week where they delivered a piglet to the Prime Minister's Downing Street abode.

Posing as delivery men, they claimed that they had a package for a "D. Cameron" that needed to be delivered, which turned out to be a piglet.

Speaking to the guards at the gate, they claimed that the pig arrived courtesy of "The Bullingdon Club. They said if he can’t keep a secret, he’s no longer in the club".

The animal was removed from the cage, clearly distressed and hoping to get away, before being shoved back in and abandoned outside the Prime Minister's residence.

The "pranksters" never returned for it, and simply left it there, after which the police took it to the local station at Charing Cross.

Thankfully, there is a happy ending as Surrey Docks Farm adopted the animal and gave it a good home, but they were keen to emphasise that the actions of those in the video were tantamount to cruelty: "They’ve not thought about how this is going to affect the poor little piglet. This is its first experience of the outside world and it has been dragged all over Downing Street and then into Charing Cross police station. Piglets are normally so friendly and curious but it is so stressed after such a bad first real contact with people".

The animal looks much happier resting up in its new hay-filled home.
