Patrick Quirke's trial has heard cable ties and a lady's hair clip were found in the run-off tank where Bobby Ryan's remains were found in April 2013.

Mr Quirke, a 50-year-old farmer from Fawnagown in Co Tipperary, denies murdering the local DJ - who was known as Mr Moonlight.

The last reported sighting of Mr Ryan was when he left the home of his girlfriend Mary Lowry at 6.30am on June 3rd 2011.

Patrick Quirke, who had an affair with Mrs Lowry before she started seeing Mr Ryan, was the one who found his body in an underground tank on her farm almost two years later.

Today, the jury heard some cable ties, tubing, a hair clip and some buttons were recovered from the pit following the discovery.

Defence barrister Lorcan Staines questioned why there was no mention of the hair clip in the exhibits chart disclosed to them late last year.

When asked how it was on the chart presented to Garda Gerry Canty this afternoon, the witness said he was not the one who completed it.

Later, during the cross-examination of the crime scene photographer, two photos of Mr Ryan's body in the tank were accidentally shown on large screens in the courtroom.

They were quickly taken down as Mr Ryan's daughter Michelle, who gave evidence earlier in the trial, left court in a distressed state.
