The funeral takes place later of a man who died following a fatal assault in Athlone over the weekend.
Paul 'Babs' Connolly died from injuries he sustained in the assault in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He had been on a stag night out.
The 48-year-old is thought to have broken away from the stag group before he was assaulted on Church Street in what's been described as an "unprovoked assault".
Two men appeared in court on Sunday charged with violent disorder and assault.
Sean Munnelly (35) of Irishtown, Athlone and 18-year-old David Higgins with an address at St Paul's Terrace in Athlone were remanded in custody to appear before Mullingar District Court again on Thursday.
Mr Connolly's funeral Mass will be held at 3.00pm in St Mary's Church in Edenderry, followed by burial in St Mary's Cemetery.
